Cancelled Sky broadband on 18th June and am now being charged for late payment

IMG_3270.png

I cancelled my broadband on 18th June. I was told to keep my direct debit open because Sky owed me some money. I had a right to exit email hence my cancellation because the service and broadband are both utterly horrendous.
I kept the direct debit open as instructed but did not receive my refund instead I was charged for a monthly bill the following month. I therefore cancelled the direct debit and I have now been emailed by Sky to say I owe the monthly payment and I'm also being charged £10 extra for late payment.
my account is cancelled. Please remove all charges and stop contacting me

We're a customer Community.Sky won't know who you are from your post here. I'd suggest contacting Sky to find out what has gone wrong, otherwise they're likely to pursue you for payment.

If it wasn't so impossible to contact them I would do exactly that. The web chat is no help and it is impossible to get through on the phone

If Sky believe you have an outstanding payment then they won't talk to you until it's paid.

Alternatively, you can try calling from a number they don't recognise.

Due to notice periods and monthly in advance charging you can be billed longer than expected - but you will receive a credit back to the point of cessation.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own
