Cancellation

How on earth do I cancel my TV subscription. I sent text months ago but that has been ignored. On line it simply defaults to a phone number which takes hours to use and costs 3.50 per minute.

All I can interact with is AI Bot programmed to dissuade me from leaving by taking me around in circles.

I cant simply cancel the direct debit because SKY owe me more than 100 and will simply take that.

To fully cancel your TV subscription, if your minimum term has ended you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. Note that the latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. (If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term).

See the below link
https://www.sky.com/help/your-account/my-account-and-subscription/cancelling/cancel-my-subscription/...

Select ‘No, I still need help’ at the bottom of the link which will lead to contact methods.
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ It may include a phone number, an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ there’s a text option (Monday-Friday 9am to 4:30pm) otherwise it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

If you successfully cancel you should receive an acknowledgment email from Sky.

Remember that billing continues through the notice period after which a credit for any overpayment will show on your bills and should be refunded in about 6 weeks from your last day of connection.

If you are cancelling Sky Q, return packaging will be sent out near the end of your notice period for any loaned equipment Sky are expecting back. It’s important that you obtain proof of posting and keep it safe and indefinitely.

@Unhappy-John

Calls to Sky n their 03 number are free if you have free calls with your phone provider so shouldn't cost you a penny.

Re: Cancellation

Thank you for your help. I am calling from England and the charge is. £3.50 per minute.

My contract ended 6 months or so ago and I have simply been ignored.

I also have a current SKY mobile contract that stands independently to TV subscription; that has not worked for 4 months and despite several undertakings to send a corrective code nothing has ever arrived. There is no service whatsoever on the ESIM so cant be used to call SKY. All I get is two amounts taken on direct debit every month - they never forget that!!

I have been a SKY customer for 36 years and carried a subscription from my UK home when I moved to Ireland.

I have sent yet another text cancelling the service but have not received any acknowledgement.

@Unhappy-John What number are you calling? The 03 numbers that Sky use cost nowhere near that amount per minute from any provider, calls should either be free or at most £0.65p per minute

@Unhappy-John

So you're now in Ireland… note the section in green at the bottom of my post.

These are the current methods for contacting Sky, and some will be more appropriate than others …

🟧 📞 Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or your Sky Talk landline if you have Sky Broadband. The forum doesn’t allow the display of other numbers but official numbers to Sky from the UK are 03 numbers which are usually inclusive from non Sky phones.

All calls will start automated (aka ‘the bot’) which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and sometimes saying nothing when asked the reason for the call helps being put in the queue for an agent.

🟧online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
If necessary a number may be visible at the end of the correct help flow.

🟧Sky Assistant 💬 should also be available via
https://www.sky.com/help
for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It should provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

🟧Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on Facebook or Instagram, (links at the bottom of the forum page).

🟩Note ~ ROI customers If you’re in the ROI make sure the flag in the bottom right of the link is showing the correct flag and change if required. The Sky Ireland phone lines are closed at a weekend.

@Unhappy-John If you are in the UK(As you state calling from England) then use the number on Sky's contact us page, its an 03 number that is free to call on the all in plan with EE.

What number have you been calling and where did you get it from? Im guessing its an 09 number.
