I have an account in my name last yr in may my partner extended my contract without my knowledge and we have now split up and I want to cancel and sky are telling me I'm in contract until may 2027 I can't see how they can hold me to that when I knew nothing about it

@Markkk presumably your partner had the necessary information to satisfy Sky's verification procedure and access your account. All subscription changes are notified to the accountholder's email address.

I've not seen any emails but to be honest I don't really check them but nonetheless I didn't authorise it and he was my husband so will know a lot about me

If you husband knew the telephone password and/or passed the security questions that might have been asked then Sky will have acted upon his instructions so if you are in a contract as you are finding out they are within their rights to not let you cancel.

That's a shame, as part of the reason they're sent is to highlight changes you're not aware of.
All you can do is plead your case with Sky.
