My husband is unwell and hasn't looked at the account for some time which we now can't access probably because the contract has ended. We have an ancient sky box and bills of sometimes £200 a month! Do we need to sign up for a new contract?

That wouldn't be the case as you should be able to access it anytime so what happens when you try to login to it ?

I would say so as you might be able to save some money by upgrading that old box to something like Sky Stream. So why not call Sky and see what they will offer you, don't feel pressed into anything but if you are offered something you will have to make up your mind there and then.

There is no info about the account when I sign in, presumably because we know longer have a contact. Looks like I will have to sign up again.

You don't need to sign up again (and you probably wouldn't be able to). The best option is to give Sky a call, and discuss a new deal with them.
