Ive just received a call from[removed] is this a legit sky number

If it was from Sky then should ask you for your telephone password so if you are not sure if its is them then give them a wrong one because if the call was from Sky then would know and tell you the password you gave them was wrong.

Most likely scammers stating they can save you 40% on your bill or giving some other claim like email account needs updating.

Calling about installing fibre in my area and want to get mine done. asked my name and address then said your account has been flagged for escalation then hung up

I have just received a call from 0333 4439830, advised they were in my area changing to copper and they book us in. Then confirmed how much I am paying on each account, how much discount is showing and when the offer ends. Said he can offer a bigger discount. I am at work so didnt go any further. I am dubious if I am honest.

@SF17 These days I don't accept anybodies word, due to the rise in number spoofing etc. I much prefer to hang up and call the company (if it's one I already deal with) myself to verify if it was genuine or not.

They wouldn't be changing to copper. Copper is how your existing telephone line delivers your phone and broadband services (unless you have a separate fibre optic cable to your home)

I had a similar experience. I was called by the 0333 483 number on my landline a few weeks ago, then most recently today 15th July 2025 on mobile . Gentleman said his name was Adam ( sounded pleasant, slight London accent?). Knew my name and said he was from Sky and they were offering better broadband upgrade at no additional cost. I explained I was on my way out and I offered to call back later, he said "To avoid me queuing , he would call me." I had seen warnings ⚠️ on the 'Who Called' prior to call, so blocked number.
