Borderline financial harassment

Right I don't know how this will help but it doesn't seem to be possible to talk to anyone without calling, and even when you've called 5+ times it's not like that actually helps anyway because no one seems to be able to resolve this issue. I've paid my sky bill of £45 (apparently twice so a refund is already pending for that). Since then sky have attempted to take an extra £45 a further 8 times so far, and has only been unsuccessful because I'm having to keep my money elsewhere. Ive called sky countless times had my bill reduced and the only advice they seem to give is to block sky through my bank but I'm still going to get a notification every single day about the attempted charge. Even then I will have to unblock sky next month to be able to pay my bill which has now been reduced, but who knows if they'll attempt to take £45 again when it's not even supposed to be that much anymore. Skys customer service is useless and it seems like there's nothing I can do about it

@SB02

What might have happened is the bill hasn't actually been paid as the two amounts of £45 you paid were presumably done manually because if so and you do it to close to your billing date then what happens is the payments go onto your account as a credit.

Your bill itself should show if this has happened so you do you see two £45 credits on it, you can view it via the MySky app or online here:

@SB02 I suspect the initial cause of this is that you made a manual payment. When you do that your payment is likely to end up as a credit on your Sky account without settling the bill you were aiming to pay. Consequently Sky continue to try to take payment, by debit or credit card in your case, I suspect, to pay the still outstanding bill.

If there's still some residual credit on your account, we can help with getting it refunded.

The way to avoid a repetition is to not make manual payments.  Let your monthly automated payment settle your bills.

I am sorry but your post to me make little sense or  how Sky normally take payment,. First o all you don't say how the first two payments of £45 were paid. Did you make manual payments or did Sky them be direct debit or continuous card payment which ever you have set up. If you made a manual payment payment this is unnecessary and won't actually go to pay you peresent bill but a credit on a future bill.  That why Sky have tried to take your present bill by method you set up. You say Sky have tried unsuccessfully to to payment 8 times but this not usualy the way Sky normally try taking payment. The normal approach which is well documented on this forum is if you have a direct debit set up is Sky will try and take on your designated payment date, if that fails they will try again 10 days later and if that fails they will after couple of days restrict your service and send you either a email or letter, asking you to make payment and your service will not be restored until the outstanding amount  paid and new continuos payment has been set up. If you pay by countious debit/ credit card payment is tried to be taken on your designated payment date , however with method there is no second try, your service is restricted until payment is made. Sky will not talk to you until, the outstanding amount is payed and new continuous payment set , calls to them will just be greeted by message telling to settle the outstanding amount. Therefore you claims that Sky have 8 times to take payment is most unusual and not the way they normally do things.
