Beware Scam Call !

This morning I received a phone call from from a man purporting to be a Sky Represetative/Agent.

There was an immense amount of backgroung noise from what I thought was the usual call centre.

He asked what I was paying per month for TV, Sports and Entertainment, Broadband + phone ( I should have realised Sky would have known this !)

He hit me with an offer of £49.00 all in.  This was because I was a long time customer, which is true.  What made me really suspicious was because I had paid so much for so long, I would be rewarded with, not a refund or credit to my bill, but a Galaxy Tab, 256 laptop.

The only thing I belive I did wrong was confirm my email address to him.

There was talk of a phone call later in the day to arrange the delivery of the "gift".  By then I was on the phone to Sky via 150, but it took a second call before I was saitisfied with response I received.

YES, it's a SCAM !  Please be aware.

A very common scam unfortunately.

With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it will be a scam call.
