Why do Sky make it so difficult to reduce a tv package?

To remove a part of your TV package you need to contact Sky giving the standard 31 days notice. If you have 'in contract' discounts you may not be able to remove them. Also make sure cancellation of a certain add-on doesn’t cancel another part of a discount.

You may be able to remove it via this link which includes a message option (usually available between 9am & 7.30pm) or by calling in using the number that should appear.

Re: Annoyed by Sky

Thank you for that.

but why must I call in to remove a product?; it's made very easy to add a product online, it should be the same for removing a package.

Plus, there is no message option provided just a telephone number.

In the UK legislation to that effect exists as a provision in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Act 2024 but has yet to be implemented by the Competition and Markets Authority.

There's no obligation on a service provider to permit reduction within a minimum contract term.
