Does anyone know who I would complain to? Is it ComReg?
@Janeh81 how have you been contacting Sky. There are a couple of ways to directly get hold of the cancellation team and indeed they won't stop anyone from cancelling their contract UNLESS you are still in your minimum term agreement, at which point it is Sky discretion is they allow early termination ( although you would have to pay out the remainder of your contract).
Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following links which will lead to contact details.

I presume this is Ireland?
Like most regulated businesses you have to complain to the service provider first.
But, as above, you may not be able to cancel if within a minimum term contract.

Yes, in Ireland.
I am out of contract since 9th December.

If you are based in Ireland, make sure you change the flag at the bottom of the Sky hlep website from UK to Ireland to get the Ireland specific cancellation contact information.

Then there's no reason why you can't give 14/31 days notice, depending on the service.

@Janeh81 what reason have they given for not accepting your cancellation notice.
If you have only tried via the phone, have you tried the other contact methods or Messaging of indeed just writing an email or letter to then giving your notice period.

To cancel all of your TV subscription, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. ROI customer ~ it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

I've been speaking to them on Messenger & it just goes round & round in circles with endless questions about why I'd ever want to leave the amazing Sky! It's very slow! Since last week they contact me every morning 9am to start the same conversation again. I get a reply once an hour until 5:30 when I get a message saying they're closed for the day! It's like Groundhog Day!
I tried email too but no reply yet.
I'll have to write to them next!

I've got to say i'm surprised with the no response to email, as that is considered as you giving written notice. You shouldn't really have to resort to writing an old fashioned letter.

That won't cancel your subscription and will result in an jncreasing debt which Sky will seek to recover from you. Worst possible thing you could do.

There's plenty of posts where customers have unfortunately taken that route then complain when they can't call Sky, get late payment fees added, are advised of debt collectors involvement and still can't cancel.

I got an acknowledgement of the email & it says they'll respond in 72 hours so we'll see...

It's just as bad ,I was 1 hour to get to the point to cancel my TV last night .
Plus 20 mins on hold .
Total of
3 calls to be put through on hold for over 30 mins each time and give up
Then 1hr 20 mins to get it done via chat .
They are 100% making it difficult .
My frustrations cost me over 150 extra after my bill increased 30% .
