I understand the 31 days notice that you have to give sky to end your contract.
I also understand that you have to see out the contract term.
Let's say I take out an 18-month contract ending 01 December 2024. How early can I write to sky to state I want the contract to end on that date?
Could I write in October 2023 stating I would like the contract to end 01 December 2024?
I stop automatic annual renewals on other products the same day I purchase.

I should have been clearer.
Terms state you have to give them (a minimum of) 31 days to terminate.
Can I give them 50 days, 100 days or 300 days notice?
Well I have a contract that ends in about 70 days time and so I have sent an email, stating I want the contract to end on the specific date.
I think this is important by missing the 31 days end of the contract and so having to pay a month of a much higher subscription.

Ok thanks, I will let the forum lnow how I get on.
I will also write to Which? to see if they have any comment on this.
In the meantime I have put an entry into my oalendar for 31 days notice, if my cancellation notice is refused.

Sky's billing system is daily pro-rata. So 'missing' the 31 days slightly won't cost another whole month. (Aside from the fact Sky's billing system is monthly in advance, with bills created 14 days before billing date - which means you WILL be paying past any cessation date, but the following bill will generate a pro-rata credit which will be refunded eventually)
I have given notice longer than 31 days - they seemed to have 'noted' this but I would always confirm at the 31 day point to avoid disappointment.
