Accout restricted

I have canceled my Sky accout last Septermer with the final payment in october. I sent all equipment back as requestedand left the DD up and running as requested. A DD was then taken in November, December and January of £43/ month. I then canceled the DD. Low and behold I have now recieved a letter thretning legal action unless I pay £53. I have tried to contact Sky to resolve this matter but I am unable to get to speak to anyone unless I set up another DD and pay the £53. Can anyone please advise how I can talk to someone because I am not willing to set up another DD as the account is close (or should be).

You can't call Sky when services are restricted. Sounds like the cancellation wasn't correctly processed. Did you receive an email from Sky acknowledging the cancellation?

When you cancelled last year were you sent an email acknowledgment of this because from what you have said that it might be that your account was not cancelled for some reason hence the payments still being taken.

As frustrating as this is restoring the direct debit will be the only way you will be able to talk to Sky and not only that if they do owe you a refund with it being in place they would have to send a cheque which can takes months to be sent.
