Account suspended

Sky is very one sided and after 27 years i decided to leave, they said i had to give i months notice, they then said i must pay and then 2 months later i would get a refund I paid the difference between the bills, I now owe £40 but Sky owe me £40 so they cut me off, what a bunch of clowns. I won;t be paying but i would now like a further refund for 4 days until my contract ends.

Billing continues as normal during your notice period.  (Including in advance payments)

If you've withheld payment then it will be complicated.

@billbach you're billed as normal when your services are restricted.  No refund is due.

Sky's billing system works contrary to your assertion.  You cannot withhold payment for a generated bill on the basis of a future credit.

@billbach  The correct advice has been provided but if course you're free to ignore it and suffer the issues you're going to experience.

Sky billing does not work the way you want it to, there is no credit due as you're refusing to pay the current bill.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@billbach

You have caused this yourself by withholding the payment. Doing this is definitely not recommended and it will cause you additional problems. The relevant services have now been restricted, you won't be able to call Sky, the account can't be cancelled, late payment fees will be added and eventually Sky could involve a debt recovery company which may affect your credit rating.

Re: Account suspended

@billbach while I understand your frustration, Sky's billing has always been somewhat a mystery to me. After reading advice on these forums I  did not close my direct debit to Sky when I believed I had paid my last bill.

I sent an email to give my 31 days notice which coincided with the end of my discounted period (17 Nov 2025).  My final bills were

Aug: £68.19

Sep: £68.19

Oct: -£11.97

Nov: -£5.58

Dec: -£5.58

Jan: -£5.58

Feb: £0.00

It took some 5 months to fully clear/ wind down my account, and receive my £5.58 refund. Only this month have I cancelled the Sky direct debit with my bank.

My suggestion, pay what you believe you don't owe, reinstate your account, and it will eventually work out.
