Re: Account name
None of it worked unfortunately, it's a total nightmare and Sky are so not understanding, even with me offering to send proof of our divorce to them!. Additionally an engineer came to the house as was having issues with broadband.. she set about trying to get me all sorts of temporary free upgrades and discounts for this and that... she put me back in contract without telling me,.. just said she'd managed to reduce my monthly payments, so I'm stuck with this for another two years!.

Re: Account name
Oh for crying out loud, what a joke! It's so frustrating. I'm in the same position where it's impossible to ask my ex-husband to contact sky, so I seem to be locked in for the rest of my life! If anyone has any bright ideas, very much welcomed. I'm not keen just to stop the direct debit as inevitably that's going to impact on my credit rating- and that's all that sky can suggest 🙄

That shouldn't be the case. Sky will chase the account holder not the person who has been paying the bill.

Re: Account name
Yes exactly that, and same for me!. You can cancel your Sky subscription via 'chat' so if you know all the security info etc
(removed)
It's honestly ridiculous... you can change ANY other detail except the first name on the account 🤬
Moderator note: Removed advice that would break law.

Re: Account name
Yes, but it's linked to your address.. I didn't want that, having a string of letters coming and having debt collectors arriving at the door etc. Also I suppose it would only be fair to ask ex partner to ring and sort it, giving them chance before potentially getting them in trouble?, but this contact is not one I would want to make for me personally 🤷♀️

people have debts, not addresses.
However, it is true letters and collectors may arrive at the address but this does impact your credit personally.
But comms may be refused to be installed at such an address.
