2 months sky cinema

I had to phone sky last week about a current issue with my broadband shield settings not being accessible to see if they could help, which i am still waiting for it to be fixed after talking with 3 different advisers, but after the initial conversation i was offered 2 months free sky cinema and was told there is no need to get in touch to cancel the trial as it was sky who had approached me about it and they would send me an email to cancel it when it ended.

I took the offer and i got a confirmation email saying it was for 2 months sky cinema and it shows on my bills as the discount ending 6th october which is 2 months later.

Shortly after i got another email with a link to claim my free month of sky cinema and activate it with terms and conditions saying i need to give 31 days notice to cancel it(which is totally at odds with what i was told on the phone). But i had already got free 2 month and it was already activated so i rang sky back to ask why i had now been sent this email to claim the free trial when i had already had it activated and it was for 2 months.I was told to ignore this email and i had indeed got 2 free months.I asked abut cancelling it and was told again to ignore this email and just get in touch with them the last week in september and tell them to cancel it.

Today i got another email from sky telling me my trial was ending ( i have only had it for a week!) with a link taking me to a page to manage my subscription where i can cancel this sky cinema offer, otherwise i will be charged going forward. It also states about giving 31days notice.

So i rang sky again to ask why i have been sent this email and was told its possibly an  automated email and to just ignore it and that my bills show i have 2 months free which ends in october and to just get in touch nearer the date and cancel it and that i will not be charged during this time period.

Now i am concerned that the people i have been talking to may not actually know what is going on and that i am going to be charged unless i cancel now, which will also mean i lose the 2 month trial i was given.

Plus if they are telling me to ring the last week in september, how can i give 31 days notice if the offer runs out on 6th october.

Im tempted just to cancel it all now as it seems to be more hassle than its worth.

Any advice please?

Hi @mc321   I would never ever agree to a free trial from Sky, unless I wanted to add on that subscription. They make it extremely difficult to cancel. Just make sure that you give the 31 days notice, so I would give notice after the first month.
