Why are customers still paying a subsciption for HD, this has been available since 2005 and should be the default screening without the need to pay, we would not be happt if we were still using dialup for broadband, get with the times Sky and stop charging for this service.

Hi @Steve+D+1
Afraid you are not contacting Sky directly here as this is a customer forum.
If you need to contact them you need to persevere by phone.
To contact Sky
Select Need more help
at the bottom of the following link and this will lead to a phone contact.
Ignore all automated messages and wait for an agent

Presumably because customers still want it.
I'm sure it has been covered before, but to reiterate, whether it's charged for separately, or within the price of a TV subscription, you would still be paying for it.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI think for glass and stream, hd is the basic
But as many customers are still sd for the earlier products from sky, making hd for these people (who have not opted to subscribe for hd) the basic would involve changing their contracts and adding cost to their package that they have shown they do not want.
Sky aren't going to just absorb the cost of upgrading to hd these folks who don't want hd.
