lf i call the landline from my mobile - wht i hear from the mobile is that it does not ring. you just hear a crackling noise and are cut off instantly.

Otherwise you'll need to report it to Sky. If you have the means, give them call, but if not we can alert Sky's messaging team who may be able to contact you via the forum. Sky's messaging responses aren't instant- it's not a live chat service.

thanks for the reply. Its the landline thats faulty not the broadband. we dont get the line through the broadband.
whats really weird is that if i call the landline - you just get cracklingnoise on the caller end then cuts off. the landline does not ring. but if you then try to lift and listen on the landline it gives an engaged tone.
after a few minutes the engaged tone goes and a landline tone resums meaning you can call oyut
if you make a call. nobody can hear you
if you call to the landline, it cust you off. the landline then sounds engaged from the phone end.
weird

actually people can hear if you make call out but very poor quality. so incoming doesnt work atall and outgoing is poor quality.

Yes, that's why I said run the test regardless of whether or not your broadband is working.

So did the check detect a fault? As previously asked have you the means to call Sky and report this?

the online check did not find a fault so its clearly not a good check
sky have said their is fault on the line after painfully phoning their hopeless service for hours.
no we wait until they can be bothered to do something
AWFUL service.

Sky will pass on the issue to Openreach who will investigate/fix.
