On full fibre - do I still need the old BT master socket?

Hi All,

I upgraded to full fibre (FTTP) last year and use the telephone service through that.   I'm just decorating my hallway where the original BT master socket is.   Ideally I'd like to remove it if it's not needed as it will make the job easier and neater.   I doubt there is any service to it anymore but I wonder if I'm 'allowed' to remove it and the cabling or does it need an engineer to remove.

Probably OK, but technically the master socket and cabling to it from outside belong to Openreach and I don't know what their view would be. Perhaps other Community members will have experience of this.
