told today that I need a new box and that Inwill lose BBC imminently and other channels soon. Is thi

this morning, I was told by Sky that I had  to upgrade my box or I will soon lose BBC and other channels soon after. I panicked and  agreed but is this true

What type of Sky box do you have, so can it receive HD channels ?

@William7227  If you have a sky + box and not a Sky +HD box then yes it's true 

 

if you go to channel bbc 1 on 101 does display HD in the channel name

@BBC SD channels have already been switched off as far as I know. So, if you can view BBC channels now they must be in HD.

Sadly, It was Sky that rang me and told me that I would need a new box or lose all channels soon. I agreed to the upgrade only to find out via my childten that I have an HD box and that it was untrue.  Not a pleasant way to treat an OAP.
