After 7 years our Sky+ box seems to have stopped working, the screen notice says " your skyhd+ box isn't getting a satellite signal etc" but we know the dish IS getting a signal as the one in our kitchen is working OK. When we do the trouble shooting it shows on the Signal screen that we are not getting a signal. Any help appreciated

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt must be either a Cable, LNB or Sky box issue, each box has it's own cables and ports on the LNB so one box can work whilst another has issues

Thankyou fot your advise. My husband had a look at the cables and said they look OK but I don't know what LNB is?

Cable damage might be water ingress so you'll not detect that with a visual inspection

Thankyou. Do you know if this something we could try and sort ourselves or do we have to get an engineer out?

Anything is possible to do yourself but with the number of variables it would be quicker to get someone in to do the fix
Sky chrge £65 but you can use a 3rd party if you want to

You mention that you have another box. You could narrow down the fault by swapping the boxes between the two rooms to see if the problem follows the box (meaning it's the box) or stays in the location (meaning it's the cables or LNB port).
