Should it be asking me to press and hold the WPS button after selecting the Wired option ?

No @nad1611 

It may ask but don't press any WPS buttons.

Just wait to see if it connects after selecting connect wired.

So it has asked but if not showing as "obtaining  IP address ". I'm presuming if we have a VPN then that will be unsuccessful?

 

Yes, has now said No IP adresss obtained.

Hi @nad1611 

Main thing when connecting by Ethernet is to carry out a Network reset (with the Ethernet connected) and do not carry out any WPS.

This helps to force the Q box to use the Ethernet.
