Recording BBC channels on Sky Q app away from home

Hi all. All I want to do is record the rugby on BBC while I'm away from home using the Sky Go app, but yet again the app won't let me because BBC have disallowed it.

This is really irritating, I don't want to watch BBC on the App, I just want to record them. Now I'm not going to be home in time to record it so I'll miss it - I'll have to wait ages until it's on catch up 😠

Is there any way of getting around this?

Thanks

At the top of the guide have you selected the "Record to box" option ?

You should be able to set a recording to your Sky box when you are not at home so what happens when you try to ?

Re: Recording BBC channels on Sky Q app away from home

I can't set a recording for a BBC channel as they don't show up on the list/ TV guide when not connected to my home sky q box

Me too @SkiMark , often away and curse the BBC/SKY combo for not offering the chance to record BBC progs. Thanks for asking the question and thanks to @caesarome for providing the answer. I would never have thought of that as an option.

@JohnoJ look at channels 801 and 802 for BBC1 and 2 respectively

Re: Recording BBC channels on Sky Q app away from home

@Laing1 thank you for that, I scrolled and scrolled but gave up as all BBC channels said the same "...programs no longer available" on every channel! Wonder what's going on! Used to always show bbc 1 etc at the top in their positions! If the search option woudl let you search and go to a channel that would make life so much easier!  Thank you for your quick reply.

@JohnoJ Sky Go used to put the SD channels first then the HD channels on different numbers with BBC closing the SD channels which were at 101 and 102 they for some reason are having problems moving the BBC HD channels to the position of 101 and 102
