Sky Superfast (older hub) connection drop loss of internet

Powering off  Sky Hub, and then on seems to be able to enable reconnection.   Test from Sky says Hub is powered off. The issue seems to be Hub dropping connection to internet (all lights off although on).  With the move to ultrafast.. is this yet another Sky tactic to encourage upgrade ?   Thoughts please Mike

It's a regulated industry, and Ofcom would be distinctly unhappy with any ISP found to be doing so.

A dodgy copper connection to the address is far more likely to be the issue.

Just found another view, in fact your own answer in earlier post.

Sky broadband has three in-support Hub models still receiving firmware updates, but the oldest (Sky+ Hub) is effectively obsolete...

Because it's 802.11n rather than 802.11ac.  Technically the Sky Hub (SR102) is still receiving software updates from Sky, and so is 'in support', although it's been followed by the Q Hub, Sky Broadband Hub and now the Max Hub.
