Firstly you aren’t talking to Sky Customer Services here. This is a forum where customers try to help other customers. I can't see why Sky would automatically change your router if you aren't experiencing broadband issues.

The Q Hub is a current, in-support model and receives firmware updates as appropriate. The Sky Broadband Hub is typically provided to subscribers who add Broadband Boost: it's never been an automatic hardware update/upgrade replacement*, and ISPs typically don't do that anyway as with millions of customers it would be hugely expensive and wasteful.
*except where broadband is transitioned to SOGEA and so the 203/204 is required for voice telephony.

1stly if Sky had decent customer support I wouldnt be posting here.
2ndly Ive been having issues with the ER115 for years hell you can just serch for issues on here with that particular model of router.
3rdly The cost of which is built into your subscription so either my subscription charge should go down a lot or they should send out a replacement if youve had one for a number of years.
4thly if I'm supposed to cover the cost of said router then there should be list of alternative routers that I can use with the network and directions for setting them up.

I should not have to subscribe to a service to patch a issues with a substandard product.

I wouldn't argue with you, but them's the facts.
ISPs typically only replace routers when they are demonstrably faulty, technologically obsolete or cannot be operated securely.

I dont think the firmware on the ER115 has been updated since 2017!

Past a certain point the only updates would be for newly discovered security issues: there's no new functionality to be added on that vintage of hardware.

One such update received wide publicity in November 2021, when all current Hubs (and one technically out-of-support model) received a security patch for a theoretical DNS rebinding vulnerability.
