U& dave

U & Dave won't let you download unless you have HD I'm absolutely disgusted, were already paying subscriptions for using sky it's unfair that every Chanel seems to want to make money off every series, I'm sick to death of being held to ransom because a programme I want to watch wants to make profits, the public are already being squeezed by the cost of living without having to pay a further £9 a month for hd, sky you should be ashamed of yourself.

Re: U& dave

I've just checked and that programme is available in SD so not sure what the problem is. If your box is set to download HD by default either change that setting or select "All Formats" and choose the SD version,

hi @Jahba65

Have you set the default download preference to SD ?
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

As I've commented elsewhere, a rough calculation suggests Sky may be bringing in about half a billion pounds a year from the HD supplement, which is rather more than the Sky Group division of the Comcast Corporation made in profit last year.  As it seems unlikely that their stockholders want to make losses, in the absence of the additional charge the baseline subscription would have to rise for everyone.
