Turn off Commentary?

Coverage of the tennis in Rome is being spoilt by the constant, irritating and intrusive chatter from commentators that passed for match commentary these days. Can we not have an option to turn off the commentary while keeping the court and crowd sound?

@SportsFan

That option is not available I'm afraid.

MUTE has existed for many many years 😈 🤓 It's the only way to stop the commentary 🙂

They could go to Rome and watch it live then they will get the crowd without commentary 🙂

For whatever reasons Sky choose not to. The question has been asked before for tennis coverage and the poster was advised to contact the Viewer Relations Team via email at viewerR@sky.uk  but there was no update as to what the reply was.

One thing to note is that is for a different sport.

What is available for Sky to broadcast will partly depend on what feeds they are being offered. For example in situations where a broadcaster is just taking the world feed of a sport that will be the only feed available to them for broadcast. If a broadcaster does have access to feeds where commentary isn't provided then there is the added decision of whether the cost of providing such a function makes financial sense for them to offer it.

Tennis commentators

I'm fed up with listening to certain female commentator on Tennis! I am trying to watch the Italian open and have to listen to constant nattering by the commentator. I don't need a lecture on what the players were doing last week or yesterday. I assume most viewers who watch tennis do know something about it and they don't need uninteresting chat between the female commentators.

@KP211

Your post was unconnected to a Sky Talk landline phone issue. I've moved it into a thread already discussing the tennis coverage.
