Re: US Open tennis 2026 replays on demand

We have a Sky Q box and it isn't possible to record anything. All programmes are supposed to be available on catch-up/demand to watch later by using the search function. With our previous Sky box we could record any programme we wanted. If we had known about this we wouldn't have switched to a Sky Q box.

Sky Q does record. Are you sure you don't have Sky Stream?

hi @VoniG

You would not have been able to watch them on the SKY HD boxes  most of these matches are not on Satellite

They are only available via the app (or SKY Sports website) - the switch to SKY Q allows you to watch the games on your TV

Keeping your old SKY HD would not have helped due to the way they are now provided (Since over mid 2024)

The majority of matches are on SKY Sports app and not Satellite channels

Yes, that may be so. I don't watch other sports on Sky, only tennis.

We've gone back to the dark ages on Sky compared to TNT Sports for grand slam coverage. Sadly, in the UK we have no choice but to watch the US open via Sky.

As I said I have a now tv subscription and if I go in to sports section   on the main home page menu and click on it  and then find the "tennis menu and then scroll down there is section titiled " live us open. Match choice". There is a load of icons  of matches due to be played later though to night  there is about  30,of the. if I click on any of the icons   It  say "more info " and second box to add to "my watch list ". Doing that adds to the " my"list"  if I go there I can see the icon I clicked on and though the match is in the night, it will still be there for me  watch to when I get up in the morning and probably for a lot longer after. that I don't know if there is any thing Simlar on the sports section of Sky Q BOX

Yes, but they said with their new box it "isn't possible to record anything" and that programmes are available on catch-up/on demand which is exactly how Sky Stream works. They added that the previous box "could record any programme we wanted".

It sounds like the very common complaint seen on these forums when a Q user upgrades to Sky Stream without knowing it doesn't record.

Re: US Open tennis 2026 replays on demand

@DaveDrizen

Thanks for that. I'm fairly sure I've tried adding court feeds to the watchlist before and although the upcoming matches are listed in the watchlist, I think they then disappear from the watchlist once the match has been played. I hope I'm wrong as that would be great. I've just gone in and added a couple of matches to trial it later today.

Will give an update if it works or not.

No you were right, work up this morning, went to my watch list and what I had put in there last night has disappeared. As you as you say they disappear wastage match is over. Sky should realy do somthing so sport is available on demand for period after. We pay enough for the service yet this simple thing that available on other platforms is not available on sky sports. They made much play about there new feature of Sports hub and multi view no on there sports platform but sip,e thing like on demand is still lacking.
Even the free to aircraft channels like BBC and ITV make there major sport events  on demand available on line so you watch at a convenient time , like the World Cup all matches over night was available on there respective apps to watch the following and for many days after.

Yes, it's exactly as I thought. The watchlist is pretty useless as the matches disappear when they have been played so no point adding any overnight matches.

I don't really understand the purpose of the watchlist. I suppose when matches are live, you could switch between matches if you have added them there but you can do that easily enough from the matches under the US Open Live panel. Also, once a match is live you don't get the option to add it to the watchlist.

Sky obviously don't think they need to provide an equivalent service to TNT Sports or Iplayer!

Re: US Open tennis 2026 replays on demand

Correct. Been this way since Sky took over the service from Amazon prime. Tennis TV viewing went backwards since then. And in spite of repeated complaints, Sky does nothing. In ESPN (not available in UK as tennis is monopolised by Sky) on demand is available.

Re: US Open tennis 2026 replays on demand

I can't believe this coverage from Sky, even the live matches they can't keep up with scheduled matches. I've just gone into a court feed that says Maria vs Ostapenko and its De Minaur playing but I can't see another court feed for his match. It's bizarre. Where is the Maria match now?

I suppose when we have doubles matches they will all be lumped together with the singles. It's just such  a mess.

Re: US Open tennis 2026 replays on demand

I am sorry but I have to push back to some of the responses here. I purchased Now TV sports at the eye watering price of £35. I paid the exact same price for TNT sports a few months back. The next day I could catch up on any match I wanted, I didn't have to bookmark anything, I just went online and watched it. Sky is offering its customers a subpar service at this price tier. I could understand if there were other tier options and the £35 had catch up matches in it. As things stand, I can catch up on matches that Sky thinks it's worth watching. Complete disservice to their customers, I cancelled and will not be coming back until the US Open have switched to someone else. For what it's worth, I am not a fan of TNT sports either, but at least they put in the effort to design something that works for their customers.

If the recent Guardian story is correct, that's not until 2030 at the earliest.
