TV Guide and Catch-Up

Now that Sky has decided we don't need a handy TV Guide, presumably because we always have the option of catch-up streaming, does this mean the sports catch-up will improve?  I enjoy Indycar racing via NOW TV, but it is often on at inconvenient times when live due to it being based in the US.  No problem, you would think, as you can always stream it later.  Well, not really.  Unlike the terrestial channels, you have to wait days for a race to be uploaded.  But sometimes it isn't uploaded, or it will just be the highlights and not the full race.  So, too often, I have to resort to watching the repeat on live TV, which is where the Sky TV Guide came in handy.  But it isn't handy, anymore.  Sky, you need to do better.

@bebop80

There might not be an online Sky TV Guide anymore but that are ample alternatives out there, on of which is from the radio times however there are others.

Hi caesarome

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, appreciated, and this is exactly what Sky wrote when others complained about the loss of the Guide.  But, the Sky Guide was convenient and you didn't have to put up with a mass of adds and pop-ups that afflict most of the other guides.  And it slightly made up for the patchy Sports Catch-Up

  @bebop80  As @Annie+UK suggests, an ad-blocker will do the trick. I use Radiotimes.com now, have been using it for a week, no ads, no pop-ups, it works fine.

  Also, it wasn't anyone from Sky that wrote about alternatives; it was us, the customers. If you go through the thread, you should find links to sites other than the one I use.

Re: TV Guide and Catch-Up

Hi Mr+Ripley

Thanks for responding about the alternatives to Sky Listings.  As it happens, I have settled on the Radio Times as the best alternative.

I still can't understand why Sky thinks it was a good idea to remove their listings page.  It was the only thing that ever drew me to their website which, you would have thought, was something they would be keen to do.  I can't be the only person whose only regular interaction with the Sky website was the Listings page.

Anyway, this still leaves the other issue I highlighted.  Why is the Sky Sports catch-up service so lethargic and inconsistent?  Uploading days, not hours, after the event isn't really good enough.  Failing to upload events definitely isn't good enough!  Would anyone from Sky care to comment?
