Given Sky UK has owned the channel for the past fifteen years (after BSkyB purchased Virgin Media Television in 2010), that wouldn't be entirely surprising.

Re: Sky challenge

It's been called Sky Challenge on Sky Media Village amendments for a while

Movies24 is also called Sky Movies24 and I doubt they would ever call it that.

Re: Sky challenge

Yes internally Challenge and Movies24 are branded as Sky channels (as was Pick) but the Sky brand is not used on air.

Re: Sky challenge

I think there is a new channel called ITV quiz coming soon? Wonder what this means for this channel. Have to say I love challenge

Next month ITV are rebranding ITV Be to ITV Quiz, with the top reality shows that were shown on ITV Be being moved back to ITV 2.

In reality ITV Quiz will just be like the quiz themed FAST channels ITV have on ITV X, just showing a catelogue of old ITV Quiz shows.

Re: Sky challenge

I did see a post on X that it was being proposed that challenge would be rebranded to sky challenge sometime in July. Often with rebrands to sky they also appear on Now TV, like sky history has in the past.

Not sure what that will mean for rights to itv game shows on challenge. They still have the opportunity for lots of BBC ones from the past. The big break and some of the older day time ones like going for gold would be nice.

Re: Sky challenge

Media Boy on Twitter just takes speculation like this and turns it into fact. Challenge has been known as Sky Challenge on Sky's press site for a while (same as Movies24). but there is no evidence that either will rebrand under the Sky name.

To be honest would ITV still turn down the extra income for Sky to continue to have some of the broadcast rights for some of their quiz shows. Obviously got no idea what the monetary figure is but if it outweighs what ITV would expect to get from ad revenue if the rights were exclusive to ITV Quiz you would expect the sensible business decision for ITV would to be to continue to relicense the content.

Its not like ITV haven't been using reruns of their quiz shows to pad out the schedule of their channels for a number of years now, so would anything actually change anyway.
