Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@zombyzooie Your a few years too late, there was a Sky soap channel years ago, it closed as there simply was not the viewership, it's unlikely Sky will recreate that again.
What your asking for would be virtually impossible in this day and age.

I think those potential viewing figures are grossly exaggerated.

Not seeing any chance there will be a Sky Soap channel reappearing.
If you have Sky Stream/Glass.
Create a playlist called 'Soap'
In there you can playlist + all your favourite UK, Australian and USA soaps from the many channels and apps that show them and have them all available to watch in one place.

Even if Sky Soap was to return, I don't think they have any rights to any soaps.
The only thing I can think of that might make Sky Soap work today is for them to broadcast:
At least these would get a wider audience than just the island of Ireland (Irish soaps) or the UK (Welsh and Scots Gaelic soaps).
They could also broadcast international soaps like
General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives from the USA, telenovelas from Latin America, and other international soaps and dramas.
But I don't know how much of a market there is for these though.
They could even combine it with Challenge and have Challenge broadcast from 06:00 to 18:00 and Sky Soap from 18:00-06:00. Challenge is pretty much dead anyway.
Or they could combine Challenge and Pick and have Challenge from 06:00 to 18:00 and Pick from 18:00 to 06:00 and have Sky Soap on Pick's space.
Sky need to do something. At least with Sky Soap, they have something no other broadcaster has, a dedicated soap and drama channel.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI think outside of the big soaps, coronation street and eastenders (which are owned by itv and bbc), the market is not good for it.
Neighbours ceased production for 14 months due to channel 5 finding it too expensive, to produce, channel 4 stopped hollyhocks on main channel, only showing it on e4 now.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI did make a suggestion for a channel like Sky retro/Sky Classics, something like that.
Looking through the on demand selection, there's some great stuff from years back. They could easily fill schedule.

There are already channles that cover that content provided by BBC, channels are going the way of the dodo, people use On Demand/streaming more and more so schedules become less important
