Picture format - The Simpsons on Sky One

On Sky One, I noticed that the older 4:3 episodes of the Simpsons are cropped to fit, to remove the black bars on either side.

I honesty, I would prefer the original with the black bars, as what Channel 4 HD does. I feel like I'm missing parts of the show. I know it might not be much. But on some occasions, a scene may be just a sky or something like that. Like in "The Otto Show", when Bart asks Homer if Otto can stay, half of Marge and Bart are removed and Homer is zoomed in and it looks clunky and wrong.

Does anyone else feel the same? This is why I prefer to watch Channel 4 HD for the Simpsons. If on Channel 4 +1 where it's stretched to fit, I can manually adjust the picture on my TV, so that's not an issue.

100% agree. I refuse to watch anything that is not in the correct original aspect ratio or that is sped up. Hence the fact that I do not watch any American series or movies on Sky or any UK broadcaster. I prefer to stream directly on a streaming service's app or purchase from a service which does not tamper with the source material.
