The majority of people stream music these days so channels with music videos have lost many of their viewers so advert revenue drops and the channels don't make enough money

Most have closed due to low viewing figures as few people watch them anymore. Only the Now/Clubland channels remain.

Mtv closed their 4 remaining music stations on 30th December 2025

 

That's Tv closed ceased broadcasting on their 3 music channels on 28th February

 

Both of these decisions were outside of Sky's control
