Unfortunately I think this is a limitation of only subscribing to a single channel.
There can often be different matches/tournaments etc for sports meaning the one you may be interested in is not on the channel you subscribe to
Different customers may have preferences as to which is shown on the main channel & I think SKY tend to show the one likely to be most popular for its customers - although I guess scheduling may also play a part.
If you feel others, like yourself, may prefer to see the IPL games over what is shown on the Cricket channel you can make your thoughts known by sending an email to Viewer Relations : viewerR@Sky.uk
AFAIK to be able to watch SKY Sports + (& possibly other live streams via the SKY Sports app) you need to have the full SKY sports subscription
