I have a DVR ‘Freeview Plus’ DVD player recorder. When I want to record a Freeview programme. I simply select the program from the electronic guild and tell it to perform either a one-off or series record. The "Plus" in Freeview means it requires a signal to be broadcast at the start of program to start the recording. However, as of the first of June, Sky Mix channel 11 on Freeview, seems to have stopped sending this signal. All my other channels still record normally. It's only the Sky Mix channel 11 on Freeview that has stopped working. Since my DVR relies on this signal, I cannot even set a one-off record using just the time. I tried. Consequently, I cannot record anything on this channel. Does anyone else have the same problem or know why this is happening? Because it seems to be a deliberate action by someone to switch this signal off.

Is Freeview+ even a 'thing' any more?
Freeview Play is the more up to date version of it.

Hi Mark, where are you based? As I'm in the East Midlands and receive Freeview from the Cams & Beds transmitter.

Hi Mark, a retune was first thing I tried. I'm on the Sandy Heath transmitter.
As I said in my original post, the 'Start Recording' signal still works for all channels, except the Freeview Sky channels (Sky Mix & Sky Arts). So I doubt it anything to do with infrastructure (Transmitter or my DVR equipment). It feels more like something Sky has deliberately done or someone forgot to reconnect something after carrying out work. Which it could be, if the problem just with Shandy Heath transmitter. I’ve had that before with people working under me preforming maintenance tasks on industrial production equipment. Lol.
I already spoken to Freeview and they not aware of any problems. I’m now trying to contact Sky Technical. However, all the contact details I find online are either for existing customers. So they want a Sky account number, or to sell me a Sky subscription. Neither of which is of any help. ☹
I had hoped for an answer here.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWe're a customer Community so it's unlikely that Sky will reply here, I'm afraid. All calls to Sky are handled by front line advisers who hand off to specialist teams as necessary. You could try saying nothing when the IVR asks for an account number etc and see if that gets you through to an adviser, but in all honesty I doubt that an adviser would know who to pass your query on to.
You might have more luck seeing if you can pursue this with Freeview. They're more likely to have direct contact with the technical team at Sky's end that can help, assuming that's where the issue lies.
