@TimmyBGood

Yh... It is not hard to see Channelbox were doubtful and skeptical about whether TVP World launched on Freeview since 2022, but not Sky though. Recently Polish news programme.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - June 2026

That is something I had in mind hence NewsNation shouldve launched that way. But not a real different NBCNewsNow did not show up to 2022 changes from Sky and left December 2023 American news channel which owns Comcast. Ironically it would have been easier to make a feature than this EPG.

As I thought when Sky last HGTV why can't The HomeStyle Channel launch on EPG being dug up near Discovery really didn't help matters. Looking up Stremium.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - June 2026

@Marlu-Nyu I have to express and emphasise my opinion.

In my view, the real days are like 5am-5am.

So that tells me, London Live closed down at 11:59pm on Sunday 19th January and then within moments afterwards at 12:01am on the very same day London TV was launched. That's technically happened on Sunday 19th January 2025 (not Monday 20th January 2025) so I cannot allow you to jump any conclusions if that's okay with you. I have Autism and it's my right to say 12am-5am being part of the late hours of each evening but the rest is history. End of story. [Removed]

The interesting part is that 4cast.tv launch was genuinely impressive and the loss of That's TV were never enabled. I wasn’t aware Sky redeemed every public channels, or use app before February 2026 update.

@Marlu-Nyu I have to express it again and again (but I have no intention for making such rude remark) with honest and truthful:

The real days are, once again, between 5am-5am. As a result, as I said before the other day, London Live were closed down within a moment before London TV replaced it at 12:01 on Sunday evening 19th January 2025 - which it technically true because, let's be honest and clear with you, it was in the late-night evening hours and that's all it is, really.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - June 2026

I think Sky should continue to post the weekly updates but close this topic to replies. It just seems to be a few members posting nonsense recently.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - June 2026

Why? In my view, some members not even nonsense in anyway.

We have to remember that all members are kind and respective in anyway but, to be quite honest with you, there's no need to close the topic to replies in anyway and therefore must continue under no circumstances as they are no official consideration about it.

I understand what you're getting at with how you personally group the late-night hours, particularly around 00:00–05:00 being thought of as part of the same "evening" period.

In standard timekeeping, a calendar day runs from 00:00 to 23:59:59, with 00:00 marking the start of a new day. Because of that, 19 January ends at 23:59, and 20 January begins at 00:00. That's the convention used in official timing, scheduling, and record-keeping.

It's also worth noting that "midnight" can be ambiguous in everyday language. Some people interpret it as the end of a day, while others treat it as the start of the next. That's why it's generally avoided in precise contexts like broadcasting logs or timetables.

For clarity in this case, using specific times avoids that ambiguity. So a clean way to describe the changeover would be:

  • London Live ended at 23:59 on 19 January
  • London TV started at 00:01 on 20 January

That does, of course, introduce a one-minute gap on paper, but it removes any confusion about which side of midnight is being referred to.

In broadcasting, there's also the concept of a "TV day" ( 06:00–05:59), which is a scheduling convention used internally by some systems. However, that doesn't change how calendar dates work; it's just a way of structuring programme schedules.

So ultimately, there are different conventions depending on context, but for date and time precision in records, 23:59 on 19 January and 00:01 on 20 January is a clear and unambiguous way to express it.

You could but that's a very cumbersome way to do it. Simply subscribe to the thread, and then you'll get an email each time there's a new post. Or you can subscribe to the RSS feed for a thread.
