BBC Catch Up section gone but programmes still available

I'm an ROI customer and have had a BBC section in the On Demand & Catch Up areas of Sky Q for ages, both of which are now gone. However the programmes that were there are still available via search. And programmes are still being added as normal - for example I noticed it disappeared on Thursday, but Friday's episode of MasterChef The Professionals is available for download.

This section always has a very limited  (in comparison to iPlayer) and sporadic number of programmes available and having them listed out was helpful, in fact sometimes the only way to know if something was available to watch.

Is this a glitch/mistake?

Re: BBC Catch Up section gone but programmes still available

In the UK the BBC catch-up section has become a gateway to iPlayer, however programmes are still available to download the old way if you search for them by title, or find them within the Sky Go app (Browse, Catch Up, BBC, find the programme you want then select Download to Box). Not sure if this works in Ireland, they may have overlooked viewers in Ireland when switching to the new interface.

Hi @Aegris

What I see on my Sky Q in Roi is that under Catch Up TV, there are two categories for BBC, BBC and BBC on Demand a bit lower down.

the first BBc is blank but the BBC ON Demand.

1000014444.jpg

But going down,  there are the channels listed and some content on each

1000014445.jpg

For BBC 1, there are 21 programmes. Masterpiece Professionals have 12 episodes (though some expire this week). Ghosts has season 4

Bbc2 has 21

Bbc 3 has 7 programmes

Bbc 4 has 17

In Demand section, I don't have any BBC

Seems like BBC, and BBC on Demand have been removed entirely.

I'm also on Sky Q in Ireland and the "Catch up TV" has these categories:

  • Featured
  • RTÉ Player
  • Virgin Media Player
  • All 4
  • Sky Channels
  • Channels

The On-Demand section has:

  • Featured
  • Netflix
  • Sky channels
  • Paramount+
  • Channels
  • Sky Store
  • Ultra HD
  • Subtitled

The Channels sections in both don't have BBC at all.

@Marlu-Nyu

I would have thought it should be Channel 4, not all 4 in catchup. (As didn't channel 4 change the branding for their catch up)

In the photos I posted from mine, it says Channel 4. It also had a tab for 5 but that is empty.

Tg4 is also missing on yours.

The Channels photo I posted is in the tab for the 'BBC ON Demand" on Catch Up TV

What version of Q are you on?

I'm going to do a factory reset. I don't have any recordings, so I don't mind.

The factory reset readded:

  • BBC
  • TG4
  • All 4  > now Channel 4
  • BBC on demand
  • 5

I think the BBC and 5 are for the UK only. The BBC on Demand has content.
