was told wrong information
Just changed to sky from talk talk was told nothing would change I will have to do nothing in my home, I an an old age Pensionare
and had to buy new phones 6 of them and also had someone to come to fix the box.I feel I was given the wrong information and feel very unhappy with the outcome of all,

I'd assume that's the migration from an analogue circuit to voice over broadband, meaning internal extensions don't work.
Unfortunately this is an inevitable change whether or not you were proactively informed about it: PSTN is due to be ceased nationally at the end of January 2027

Sorry to hear this, are you able to provide more detail on why you had to buy 6 new phones ? the analgoue phone system is being retired and as the other poster said you wont be able to use your existing extension sockets if you ahve any unless you use something aclled digital voice injection (which is generally unecessary) howver even before the switch to digital voice a lot of people didnt even use their extension sockets as all DECT cordless phones only need to be plugged in at one place and the other phones just need a charger thus they can be placed anywhere around the house.
