Sky talk

When I ordered sky talk with my sky bundle I expected to get a handset as my home phone , is this not the case ?

@Wagger2275  This is not the case. The only company does this is BT and those handsets only work on their network.

@Wagger2275  Why? Can you not pick up a normal phone to connect to your Sky talk landline?

Buy a simple corded phone handset for around £10. I don't know why you expected Sky to provide one....

BT is the only ISP which supplies handsets because their unique heritage going back to the UK GPO monopoly means they  were in the telephone business for a century before becoming an ISP.  It's unrealistic to expect dedicated ISPs to supply handset hardware: that's just not their business model.

 

As note above, any standard (non-VOIP) handset or DECT basestation is compatible with Sky Talk.
