Recently switched from Virgin fibre to Sky fibre (+ sky talk). All went well with the switch for broadband and was told VM services would cease with One Touch Switch once Sky up and running, however phone line not working.
Rang Sky - spoke to Tech Support for 40mins who was trying to figure out what the issue was and found that there's a problem with porting my landline number from VM. Escalated to the "Orders Management" team. Still not had any info yet. Apparently i can't even request not to keep the landline number (would've been happy with a new number).
VM can't disconnect until Sky completes the order so am currently paying for both services!
Has anyone had this issue before and how long does it take to resolve? Will give them till end of week but any advice on where to go from here afterwards? Who do I escalate to further?
Many thanks

I had the same issue coming from Vodafone to Sky, 4th October my ultrafast installed, they had a problem porting my number over from Vodafone, they finally managed to sort the porting issue, once that was done a fault was found on the network, we have had no landline pushing 6 weeks, and all you get from Sky is that it's down to Openreach

Thank you for your reply @Chloe142
What happened to your service with Vodafone? Did they disconnect?
And was your broadband service affected after the port?
I don't mind being without landline as long as my broadband is working! But i need the landline in order to end my service with VM!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Lauz1 we've seen delays reported here before, but it rarely amounts to 6 weeks. You could raise a complaint, but if your case is already with the Orders Management team it's already being managed by the right team. If you decide to cancel and switch to another provider, beware there will be a 2 weeks-ish lead time for Openreach to activate your service. So it's a bit of a gamble as to which would be up and running first.

yes from early July I received the Puck and was on Vodafone broadband, and yes I was paying 2 bills with Sky and Vodafone up until October, then around a week after my ultrafast was installed the Vodafone service stopped. Replying to the question if I went to another provider for my landline, I signed up to Sky for a service that I am paying for and they are not providing it, you don't buy a new TV and only half the screen works

Thanks for your input. I'll chase it up end of week if I dont hear anything back.
Not looking at switching providers at this stage - just need my virgin media service to end so I don't have to pay two providers! But they won't disconnect until Sky completes the order i.e. get my phone line ported.
