Physical phone

Hello, Ian joining Sky broadband and it comes with landline. I have just received the broadband hub and I am wondering if I should also be receiving a physical phone or do I have to buy that separately? Also, how do I know what is or will be my phone number? Thanks

Sky don't provide the actual phone, you need to purchase that yourself. Your landline number should be in the paperwork/emails from Sky, maybe in your Message Centre and once you get a phone dial 17070 and the automated message will tell you your number (or you can dial your mobile from it so the number is displayed).

No provider will give you a handset with a phone service, those days are long gone when it was a monopoly and BT provided the phones for their servioce, you'll need to purchase a phone from any large retailer or online store.

BT Broadband used to have an option to claim 'free' Digital Voice handsets which only work with their own Hub: these are now sold at a discounted price from the new 'EE' branded shop.

The 'hybrid back up' handset is an interesting bit of kit: again only compatible with BT/EE Broadband
