Number porting failed coming from BT FTTC to Sky FTTP

I recently joined Sky BB from BT. My previous package was FTTC with my landline on copper. When I order Sky Ultrafast FTTP I requested to keep my existing LL number as I've had it for over 20 years. I received an mail giving me a new VOIP number but I thought that was temporary (or an additional number), until my existing number was ported.

Now that my package is live, I discover that the old LL number was not transferred and as my BT services have been cancelled, the number goes back into "the pot" to be recycled.

Is there any way to have this number retrieved as it is going to cause no end of pain for me, having to update websites, schools, Drs etc.

Help please!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

To my knowledge, Sky have no way of retrieving a telephone number once it has been returned to the pool, I'm afraid.
