No dial tone, old box

I've lost the dial tone on our landline. We use the old slimline broadband box with no internet calling, tried different filters, different phones and different leads but still have the same issue. Can't talk to Sky as my wife set up the account password and didn't tell me it (or I wasn't listening, unlikely). Anything other than an engineer visit I could try?

@Sightlesseyes you could try the simple checks Sky recommend (but I suspect you've already done them). Failing that, I'm afraid it's a matter of waiting until your wife can contact Sky - they'll need to access her Sky account to carry out detailed tests and book an engineer as necessary.

@Sightlesseyes without the account log in details and the telephone password, you're snookered I'm afraid.

The connection test here may detect a fault or highlight any known faults in your area, but you do have to be logged in, in order to access your account details and use it.

Thanks Mark, I can log in but don't have the account password. No fault found on the line on the online check.
