Landline

I am able to make outgoing calls and can ring my landline from my sky mobile. No one else can ring my landline. Can anyone provide help please?

@RobMar3 what's the background to this, please? Are you new to Sky Broadband/landline? If so, when was your Sky service activated?

No, not new to the service. I have been with sky for 26 years. Yesterday it was discovered that non sky customers couldn't ring through to my landline. I can ring out and I can ring from my monile (which is sky) but no one else can ring.

How was this ascertained? As you can ring out have you reported it to Sky by dialling 150?

Have you changed the house phone recently? Activated any call blockers on the phone such as the BT Truecall service built in to some of their phones.

Family members are unable to get through to the landline. I can ring out and myself and my daughter can ring the landline from our sky mobiles.

Nothing has been changed recently. We have broadband, wifi, mobiles all with Sky. It only started happening yesterday

I have tried ringing 150 but becasue my husband is the named account holder and I don't have the telephone password. They won't speak to me. My usband is away and unable to be reached.

@RobMar3 unfortunately, but not unreasonably, Sky have to be certain that the person they're speaking to is,authorised by the accountholder or is the accountholder himself. In the absence of the accountholder they can only rely on the telephone password to do so.

 

If you're able to contact your husband to ask him for the telephone pasword, assuming he has set one up, you could either call again or we can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat. Without the telephone password your husband will have to report it himself, I'm afraid
