Landline telephone dies not work after analog to fibre switch

My broadband was recently upgraded by Sky from analog to fibre. We have noticed our landline telephone is not working and there is an Amber voice light on the Sky router. Does this mean we have to buy a new landline telephone please?

Good morning,

Reboot of the router worked, left unplugged for at least a full minute, reconnected and now all 4 lights are green and a dial tone so all appears to be working as expected.

You shouldn't need a new phone. When was your new service activated? It can take a day or so for the phone service to catch up.

Thanks Mark39, it was activated on 3rd December. Router is showing an Amber light on the "Voice". Checked all connections and they seem OK.

Will reboot the router in the morning and see if that helps.

It shouldn't take that long. Yes, restart your Hub when it's convenient.. If it stil shows an amber 'Voice' light, it's best reported to Sky. We can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish.

I have the same problem - amber voice light, router removed all connections to and reset it. Amber light returned - phone system powered up and connected correctly .

@Jazzerat26 when was your new service activated? By 'connected correctly' do you mean your handset  is plugged into the phone socket at the back of your Hub?

OK, I've alerted Sky and a Community adviser may be able to help you via private, online messaging later today. Look out for a blue/red chat 'bubble' towards the bottom of the page. Replies from Sky may not be instant, so check back from time to time for updates. Once the chat is activated it remains open for 48 hours, after which it will automatically close..
