Landline Monthly Charges

My Sky contract is up for renewal and I wondered if you have to have a landline to use the internet?

I have a router for the internet but I do not use my landline at all and have no house phone.   I have the Sky  'Pay as you Talk' and Sky Talk line rental.  Just trying to save some money and wondered if this was an option to reduce my bill by £30 a month,.

Any advice would be appreciated.  TIA

Unless you have a fibre optic cable to your home, your broadband is delivered via your landline, so yes, you do need to have one. Make sure you're on one of the more recent broadband packages, where line rental is included in the cost of the package. You've done the right thing by specifying Pay as you Talk, as there's no monthly charge for it.

Thanks @Mark39 for your reply.  I did think it was a long shot, but you never know if you don't ask the question.
