@denbrew yes. Your phone service will be via your broadband Hub, and your phone will therefore need to be plugged into the Hub. The old copper landline and wallplates will be redundant.
You don't need a VOIP phone. Your old phone will be fine, unless it's one specifically designed for BT's Digital Voice service.
