Failure to transfer phone number

When arranging contract to include broadband and talk was assured old BT phone number which we've had for 60 years would be retained, Sky failed to do this and are now 'apparently' unable to get it back, so stressed angry and frustrated am considering cancelling whole package and looking for compensation. Any comments please?

Sky say that most of the time you can keep your number.  There may have been technical reasons on the day why it didn't happen.

You could make a formal complaint  - I would suggest in old-fashioned writing - to see if anything can be done: I believe there's a 31 day window within which it might conceivably be possible to retrieve your number. After that, it won't be possible.

It's unlikely that you'll be entitled to any compensation, in my opiion.
