Connecting phone when using mesh WiFi

Hi,

I had sky fibre installed yesterday. I have a TP Link Deco Xe75 whole home mesh WiFi system, which is doing a great job of managing my network.

I have connected the Openreach modem directly to the main Deco, so don't need to use the sky hub at all for internet.

I do however need it to connect my landline phone into.

I'd like to keep the Deco connected directly to the modem, and then connect the sky hub either directly to the Deco, or to a switch. Unfortunately when I do this the sky hub doesn't detect the internet connection, and so the phone line doesn't work.

if I connect the Openreach modem to the sky hub first, then connect that to the Deco, the phone seems to work but internet (through the Deco) runs very slowly.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working?

Thanks.

@MuttonJeff  You need to connect in this order:

ONT to Sky Broadband Hub, connect phone to hub.

Connect DECO to one of the Ethernet ports on the hub.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Connecting phone when using mesh WiFi

Thanks... I've tried that but the internet speed drops from over 400 mbps to around 2 mbps. Maybe I need to change some of the settings in the Deco?
