sky plus viewing card

UK sky plus 25 years. Got a "viewing card not authorised" message a week ago. Rang and was advised I needed a new card. Rang and was told a new card would be sent in 3-5 days. Rang today to chase it up and was told a new card had not been ordered. I now notice the  card number on the website has been changed. The call centre cannot change the number back to the number on my exisitng card as they have no authority or access. There is NO UK number to ring as all calls get randomly sent to a call centre which may be anywhere. The call centre do not have any numbers either. The only way to speak to a real person is to tell them you wish to cancel!

All I want is to get the card number back to match my card. simples? No. Anybody got any thoughts please. Wife is missing her crime stuff!

@DavoCFC have you previously ordered, then cancelled Sky Q?

A new box type unknown was offered about 4 years ago but I never replied as all was fine. BTW fresh instal does not work. All I want was a techie to change a few digits..........

@DavoCFC that's not the cause then. You'll need to persevere with calling, I'm afraid. You'll need a replacement Viewing Card.

 

Calls are directed to the next available adviser regardless of where they're located.

@DavoCFC no idea. Historically, the solution to this issue involves a replacement Card. I doubt they'll do any different in your case.

dont quote me on it but I would say normally a change in viewing card number means a new one has been ordered some hopefully is just a case of waiting for the post

That's SKY... they do that also when the customer not order the Q Receiver.

SKY want get lost of the old SKY+ HD Receiver.

They does that with me. as well.

SKY Q, With Entertainment SD and Sky Sports HD.

Trying to understand this..I have a message on Sky Sports that my viewing card isnt authorised, which is of course rubbish. Any ideas how I get someone to sort it- is there a phone number  as I am going round in circles. using on screeen links here.

Thanks but thats a circular back to the community page as it seems the phone number only relates to mobiles and Sky Talk.

@Coeliac when I tap the 'no' button I'm offered either the Sky Community here, or an 0330 standard phone number (0818 in Ireland). If you're seeing something different, try clearing your browser cache.

Just to say I received a new viewing card for the intended Q box but the box was never installed.

Im not sure that I should be pairing that card but the result is the same- an error message

You should use the Sky Q card and either perform a new install or phone Sky and get them to pair remotely
