Viewing card
Sky + started giving message that I need to upgrade subscription to watch. I have a subscription. I think it's problem with old viewing card. I was told I would be sent a replacement but when it didn't arrive and I called again they said they were no longer sending out viewing cards and they have to re-set it remotely. This happens regularly about every fortnight and each time I have to call to get it reset. I can't get through to speak to anyone today. VERY FRUSTRATED

Sky are having technical difficulties today which are affecting the phone lines.
Sky+ is a legacy, increasingly unsupported platform. If this is becoming a nuisance, have you thought about upgrading to Sky Q which is their current satellite TV service?

Upgrading to sky Q is not an appropriate option for me at the moment. I have multi room subscription which my elderly parents also use in their annexe- I have had engineers round to try to upgrade but due to the layout of the house sky Q wasn't able to be installed. Also the sky glass streaming isn't appropriate as they like to record programs, getting elderly non tech savvy users used to another system is quite challenging.
it's frustrating that I was told by one customer service person they would just send me a new viewing card, then a week later I was told they no longer have viewing cards to give out. I know this is not the case as when the sky technicians were here to try to upgrade us to sky Q they gave me a new viewing card for my parents box!

We've seen posts from other customers who have had similar difficulties, requiring Sky to refresh the viewing privileges held on their Viewing Cards regularly.
The likelihood is that the same thing would happen if you were sent a replacement Card, I'm afraid.
