Ultra HD pack and a sky+box

My contract is due for renewal - I have a Sky+ box (not Q or Glass). One of the options being offered is to add the Ultra HD pack. I have just bought an Ultra HD TV but am struggling to understand how thispack works on a Sky+ box?How do you know it is on/off? With HD channels they are highlighted, but how can you tell which are Ultra HD? And are there sufficient channels available to make it worth it or should i just wait unitl i upgrade to Q?

A Sky+ HD box is not cappable of showing UHD as the max resolution of these boxes is 1080p, whereas UHD is 2160p.

You need at a minimum Sky Q or Stream.

No broadcast channel carries UHD other than for a small number of subscription Sports events.  UHD delivery is almost entirely on-demand.

As @GD1 indicates, no model of Sky+ box can output a UHD resolution.  Your new television set will be upscaling HD (and even SD) to UHD in order to fill its screen: the point of consuming native UHD content is that this upscaling is not required and so picture quality tends to be better (plus UHD material often has HDR data too)

Re: Ultra HD pack and a sky+box

OK - I am not very technical but basically from what i can see it is not worth adding the package with a Sky+ box? Bit naughty of Sky to try and sell it to me then..

That's all i need to know - thanks
